CR: Up until now Kwan Phil has just been a colleague…a strong colleague…for 6 months like living together as colleagues…because of that matter he is an important person like family and at the present time he is also my partner…and in regards to Su Ho…of course he is not my colleague, he is my employer and I am his bodyguard…but somehow he makes me want to feel compassion…so far it seems like it is not love between Young Jin and Su Ho…it is more like a close compassionate feeling…I don’t know if colleagues will change their feelings to affectionate love…or whether compassion will become affectionate love…at this time, I still don’t know what is going to happen…
Q: The scene with the egg-ramyon (instant noodle) has become a topic…wasn’t Young Jin’s behavior very slow-witted?

Q: What do you think about Su Ho’s positively aggressive behavior toward Young Jin VS Kwan Phil’s silent protectiveness over Young Jin?
CR: My personal point of view is not Young Jin’s view…Young Jin and I are similar only in that we are both a little thick-headed and that we both behave little persistently…if I experienced Kwan Phil’s expression then I wouldn’t really understand it at all…I don’t understand what his emotional feelings are…and I don’t like to misunderstand the other side’s feeling…therefore I pretend like I don’t know anything about it…in that kind of situation Young Jin and I are very similar…on that account in my personal view I like a person who is positively aggressive like Su Ho…if at a moment I am tilting my head…and a person steps forward toward me…I very much like this type of positively aggressive behavior…this kind of behavior I like very much…
Q: Lee Jong Hyuk and Lee Jin Wook what are their actual personalities?
CR: Umm~~~~first Kwan Phil…Mr. Lee Jong Hyuk’s personality…is totally different from Kwan Phil’s character…it is completely different…in the case of Mr. Lee Jin Wook I do very much agree he is like his character…that is why…at the present time Lee Jin Wook condition is that he is deep into his character…maybe as time passes, I think I will learn more about his real character…at the present time he tries little by little to become close to me…Mr. Jong Hyuk is a really funny person…but his looks are similar to his character…I look at him and sometimes I question his real personality a little …
Q: Cha Young Jin has a tenacious and stocky behavior…do you resemble Cha Young Jin on this point or are you different?
CR: Umm~~~I would be satisfied with Cha Young Jin’s cool behavior and attitude…I do really like Cha Young Jin’s cool behavior…in life everyone likes the word “cool’ therefore many people like to behave like they are cool…but their behavior is not cool and is just them showing off…I think some people are confused by this word…but in Young Jin’s case she truly has a cool behavior and attitude…that part of Cha Young Jin’s attitude I do envy very much…because I am not a cool person…I am a type A personality…Cha Young Jin and I have some similarities…like I mentioned before…she doesn’t know how to aggressively express herself when it comes to love and feelings…and she doesn’t understand very well and feels the wrong way…those kinds of behaviors are similar to me…and also her tenacity and persistence is a little similar to me…it is not a fun story (she laughes)…
Q: In this drama you wear clothes very different from “Dahl Jah’s Spring”…do you have any regrets toward this matter?
CR: The circumstances around Dahl Jah…she had a career and her age already establishing the circumstances for her hair and makeup in the drama “Dahl Jah’s Spring”…and also in the drama “Dahl Jah’s Spring” the concept was to make the dress fun and special to the performance…but the circumstances for Cha Young Jin…she doesn’t have any money…she is without any family background…because of those kinds of matters she truly lives a hard life…making it into ChungWaDae…however the black suit was really like a school uniform…so it doesn’t matter what kind of part I have to perform in, I do my best to be faithful and devoted to my character…I really don’t like to damage my drama’s character…without thinking about the character and just making myself pretty would probably make the character wrong…
Q: Chae Rim…what is your favorite scene in “Powerful Opponents” (masterpiece)
CR: Probably earlier in this drama…there was a scene where a gangster comes into my house and messes everything up everywhere…even father, brother, and grandfather look messy…in these circumstances Cha Young Jin feelings became very distressed and vexed causing her to complain about these matters toward her family…as a matter of fact…this kind of scene can happen to any family…and also this scene shows what Young Jin’s past life was like…and her feelings and heart about living her life…and it also showed the relationship between Young Jin and her family…I really think this one scene explains everything about Young Jin…therefore at time I performed this scene I felt extreme pain for Cha Young Jin’s Character…and also this scene helped me to understand Cha Young Jin’s character and extremely helped me learn how to perform Young Jin’s character…
(Speaking about…the actual shooting location of this drama)
Q: The shooting location of the drama “Powerful Opponents”…Chae Rim, tell us about the atmosphere of the shooting location?
CR: I should mention that over the last 10 years working in this industry, I have to say that this is the most harmonious team I have worked with…it is the best…truly for me…sometime I question myself…I would ever meet this kind of team to work with again…when I am going to meet this kind of team once again like that…even missing one day of shooting I really miss all of them…that is how much I like these people…not only the performers or co-workers…I also love all of our staff…now we have not even 10 days left to finish shooting this drama…and I am already worried…I am really worried…I even feel anxiety thinking about the moment of separation…
Q: Will there be any remaining memories…on shooting episodes for the drama “Powerful Opponents”?
CR: are you asking if there will be any pleasant memories…(Chae Rim smiles)…well… what would be…in my thought…would probably be earlier filmed scenes…those kinds of scenes are most left in my memory…accordingly during those matters I participated in training and practices…on that account…Umm~~~ I have never had experiences like in that matter…a hard experience like that…causes those kinds of matters to be mostly left in my memory…and also shooting those scene I found myself doing unusual and extraordinary things… I consequently enjoyed myself doing difficult things and doing well acquiring new skills…and I discovered how to challenge myself in any matter…that kind of matter is very much left in my memory…shooting guns, Yudo (Judo), fencing, those kinds of special training…riding on a boat and rowing it forward…these kinds of things are all included…
Q: In the middle of filming this drama, you had been injured…?
CR: I am much better…right now much, much better…truly at the time of the accident…my condition was very painful for me and I couldn’t move my body at all…Umm~~~~for 2 days…I couldn’t entirely stand up on my feet and I couldn’t even lie down…my condition was that much worse…however I have to go to the shooting location to film some scenes…during the shooting of those scenes…I couldn’t stand or sit down like that at all…therefore the whole staff became very careful toward me and they took care of me…in that way the whole staff helped me…and then little by little my condition became better…at the present time…without any problems I can walk around almost everywhere…everything is okay…
Q: At the shooting location who was the most helpful person…where you got your strength?
CR: our staff…all of our staff was helpful to me without any word…so that I could sit down at least once more and they also helped me put my things in order…so that I could be easy on myself…therefore I should mention this staff’s kind heart in the middle of shooting the drama “Powerful Opponents”…it was very much my big strength…
Q: Do you feel inconvenienced by regret about the audience’s viewing?
CR: truly the audience view…the audience gave me a bonus for my performance…well what I mean is that if we succeed in the audience view then that would be nice and fortunate…but if we do not succeed then there is nothing I can do about this matter…but it doesn’t matter how audience view was…I should perform eagerly and hard as in any other drama I perform in…the audience view success makes performers work hard and if the audience view is not successful causes performers to generally perform roughly…it is not like that…we can’t perform with that kind of behavior…and also there are some screen plays that when they are finished only remain in the audience’s mind for a short moment…and then there are some screen plays that are left in the audience’s mind and heart for a very long time…therefore no matter what kind of screen play I think, moment by moment, I should do my best…
CR: Truly the moment I hear these words…in the meantime I would think like…Aaaa~~~ during all those times I performed in screenplays I would become generally successful for most of the time…Aaaa~~~during all those times I was very fortunate…those kinds of thoughts…but on the other side I feel a little obligated…however our drama “Powerful Opponents” has not succeeded very well in the audience viewing… because other broadcasting station programs have been very successful in audience views…but that doesn’t matter... I met very nice people and together performed…for me this matter is very lucky and fortunate…
