'Big 3' distributor all in... the power of Im Kwon-taek

CJ Entertainment, Showbox Mediaplex, Lotte Shopping Lotte Entertainment are known to be the 'Big 3' distributors in Korean movies. Every one in the movie business wait to hear what movie line ups they have, and what holiday specials will be put to competition.
However, surprisingly there is a project with all their names lined up together. That is "Hanji" drected and produced by Im Kwon-taek. On the first poster of this movie, it says 'Jeon Ju Si, Lotte Entertainment, Showbox Mediaplex, CJ Entertainment, Dong Seo Dae, Jeonju International Film Festival.
This is the first time the 'Big 3' distributors have lined up together. They have teamed together for director Im Kwon-ta's 101st movie. The movie "Hanji" was cranked up last May but couldn't find the right release date. For this the 'Big 3' teamed together and chose March 17th as the release date.
This was the result of Chae Yoon-hee who is the representative of movie marketing company All That Cinema and Chairman of the female movie group. Cj Entertainment sponsored marketing, Showbox distribute, and Lotte Entertainment managed budgets. The three companies threw in about 500 million won. A spokesperson said, "Not only the three big companies but marketing staffs and online marketing companies too, had a hand in helping director Im.
