The 7th EBS International Documentary Festival (EIDF) is opened for one week from August 23 to 29. The theme is ‘Flying Over’, and 49 works from 27 different countries is waiting for their screening. The opening film is “Planet of Snail”. As one of the select films of EIDF Documentary Fund, it was supported 30 million won from EIDF last year. The main character suffers from sight and hearing disability but endeavors to write a book. This movie shows this kind of his situation calmly. 1 r$ u+ w: {0 a" f/ f: `

This festival is divided into seven sections: ‘Festival Choice’, ‘Award-winning International Documentaries’, ‘Asian Documentaries’, ‘All about Life’, ‘Eco 360’, ‘Challenges’, ‘Beautiful Shorts’ and ‘Reminiscence of EIDF 2009’. ‘Festival Choice’ competitive field and other six are noncompetitive field. Running films are broadcasted on EBS channel for more than 8 hours a day. They are also featured at EBS SPACE(Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul), Art House Momo(Daehyeon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul) and Korea Foundation Cultural Center(Sunhwa-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul). The admission fee of EBS SPACE and Korea Foundation Cultural Center is free. Art House Momo charges 2 thousand won. Also, participated directors of EIDF will give a lecture at EBS SPACE about definite methods of docu-production such as image composition. ! x( m o4 ` G8 k( W
