USA“第三届洛杉矶Screamfest--恐怖电影节”最大赢家《蔷花红莲》

, o0 f/ k4 o9 _. w7 U; o这是美国的一个培养和鼓励独立、实验恐怖电影的电影节。从没听说过~~或许是因为刚刚起步(今年才3rd),也或许是因为偶们平时从没注意过“竞赛型专门类电影节”~~切,反正这个米国电影节有几俩重与偶无关,偶只盯着《蔷花,红莲》看!米国恐怖片大部分都蛮恶的说,他们能欣赏和认可《蔷花,红莲》的独到之处还真是难得!《蔷花,红莲》是第一部让好莱坞争先找上门来的电影。继香港、台湾、东南亚等地上映后,配有英文字幕的该片在美国洛杉矶试映,结果引来了索尼、环球、派拉蒙、哥论比亚、梦工厂及米高梅等数家片商的激烈竞价角逐,10天后,梦工厂宣布以100万美元的签约金和正式开拍后100万美元拍摄版权费,共计200万美金拿到该片在美国的改编权,将由好来坞版《午夜凶铃》的制作班底负责制作。。。

LOS ANGELES
0 b& y" `+ ?2 {, P" gThe 3rd annual ScreamFest will kick off on October 10th in Los Angeles with special screenings of Spider-Man and Army of Darkness followed by a special Q&A session with the films' director Sam Raimi. In addition, the festival has announced that the closing night ceremony and celebration dinner will be held on October 19th at Maggianos Restaurant at the The Grove shopping center, where filmmaker Wes Craven will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the genre.9 z' Y4 S% P# _$ ]4 N" ~
% [; l, J# e3 J" nThis year's festival will feature an array of new independent horror features, shorts, student films, animated films, special screenings and seminars. Over the course of the nine day event, films will be screened at the Fairfax Laemmle Theatre, the LA Film School theatre and the ArcLight Cinemas. Each film will compete against one another in categories such as best editing, cinematography, special effects, make-up and for best picture. Individuals honors will also be handed out for best actor, actress and director. Proceeds of this year's event benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

* ~" ?8 y# L3 LFestival founder Rachel Belofsky said, "We are thrilled to celebrate the work of independent filmmakers who will be the cinematic stars of tomorrow; as we support the fine work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.cff.org) whose mission is to "add tomorrow's everyday." Belosky is thrilled that the majority of last year's films now have distribution with companies that champion independent filmmakers such as Lions Gate and Blockbuster.

* R; ~; b E9 }; ` yThis year's list of features includes the Los Angeles premiere of Chris Fisher's Nightstalker, an official selection at this year's Sundance Film Festival, following the life of serial killer Richard Ramirez who went on a killing spree through Los Angeles in 1984. The fest will also see the LA premiere of Malevolence by Steven Mena, the Chilean vampire film Sangre Eterna and the Korean horror flick A Tale of Two Sisters, which DreamWorks Pictures recently picked up for English-language rights. The Wisher and The Ghost System are also on this year's agenda.' ~% c- c7 C' N9 A6 w9 [
5 f2 M; Y7 {# k3 FSeminars at ScreamFest 2003 include "Robert McKee's Horror Day," a whole day dedicated to the art of horror filmmaking and writing, and "Blood and Guts 101," with Hellraiser: Bloodline's Gary Tunnicliffe conducting a Q&A on the world of special make-up effects. Mimic 3's J.T. Petty and Patrick Lussier (Dracula II: Ascension) will also host Q&As.8 e' X1 I8 f+ ~( u" ]/ F

New Line Cinema's Jeff Katz, producer Stan Winston and Dimension Films' Michael Grady are among this year's judges.

The festival is open to the general public, and tickets can be purschased by calling 323.656.4-SCREAM or by visiting the box office on opening night. Tickets and passes are also available at the fest's web site at www.screamfestla.com. Other films screening out-of-competition include Mimic 3: Sentinel, Dracula II: Ascension, Dracula III: Legacy, Wrong Turn, Scream, The Eye and American Werewolf in London.4 e! `5 u8 a O& c
