DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED ON EPISODE 4:
One of the men that Se-joon beat up, gets up with a knife and slices Se-joon’s arm. Then Se-joon continues to beat the crap out of him. ^^ There is chaos in the gambling warehouse as people run around in darkness and the men stealing the money. Se-joon and Hye-ri are escaping when she realizes that she needs to go back and get her other Grace Kelly heel. Meanwhile, In-woo has his chance to show off his skills as he beats men up as more and more of them come to where Hye-ri was.
Hye-ri notices the cut on Se-joon’s arm and she starts fretting when Se-joon tells her to calm down. What in the world was she thinking coming here by herself?
Hye-ri: Because I wanted to live! I’m right here, of course I have a mind of my own! Do you think I came here because I wanted to get beaten up by scammers? Did you think that I wasn’t scared while I was coming here? I had my own desperate reason to come here!
Then she slowly ties a cloth around his bleeding arm. Se-joon asks her where she got all the hints from and Hye-ri can’t tell him that it was from Lawyer Seo. All of a sudden, Hye-ri realizes that she still has the video recording of everything that happened in the warehouse. She’s exuberant! She has evidence! Se-joon pops her bubble by telling her that it was all broken. (lol)
She goes over to the policemen and tells them that she knows everything, she even knows their names! The names, obviously, are nicknames and Hye-ri realizes, with great disappointment, that she had failed her mission. In-woo watches them from behind.
In Se-joon’s car, Se-joon tells her that she could even be fired for creating such a mess. Se-joon suggests that it might be best if she just wrote a letter of resignation. At home, her mom is horrified at Hye-ri’s appearance and her dad just coolly tells her to go up to her room. While Hye-ri’s mom cries over her daughter’s skin, Jenny is applying ointment to In-woo’s back and casually says, “Maybe you and Hye-ri aren’t fated for each other.”
Hye-ri wakes up the next morning only to realize that her dad has locked up all of her clothes and shoes and she has absolutely nothing to wear. She dons on her mother’s frumpy hot pink flower print dress, flats and a trench coat with sunglasses to hide her bruises. She walks into see her boss and apologizes to him for doing this. Later, he tells her that due to Prosecutor Yoon’s special request, all she has to do is write a report. Prosecutor Yoon gives her a new case and then she asks him about his arm. As she tries to strip see if Se-joon’s arm is okay, Jeong-seon walks in. Se-joon being a little flustered tells Jeong-seon to look after Hye-ri and her new case.
Hye-ri leaves and Jeong-seon finally asks why Se-joon is doing so many things for Hye-ri; he gives her another chance, a new case, gets hurt because of her…. Hye-ri runs out to meet In-woo and surprises him with her appearance, she also asks him if he got hurt. Was he in a fight too? In-woo gives her her shoes and bag from yesterday, ALONG with a new cellphone.
HR: (stares at him)
IW: Why are you staring at me all weirdly?
HR: Do you think I am weird?
IW: Or do you have something like a love confession to tell me?
HR: Oh my! Love to you? Absolutely not!
IW: Then what were you going to confess to me?
HR: It’s not a confession but I want to tell you…please stop doing that…liking me I mean.
IW: Why do I have to stop?
HR: I…have someone that I like…so please stop. No matter how much you like me, I’m not going to budge.
IW: Who…..do you like?
HR: That’s a bit too much…
Then Hye-ri asks him to stop contacting her and In-woo says that that is a no can do. Does Prosecutor Yoon like her back? Did they agree to start dating? If not, then he is going to continue meeting her. Taken aback by Prosecutor Yoon’s name, she asks him how he knows. In-woo replies like he always does, he has a sharp intuition.
Her assistant and even Jeong-seon is surprised at how hard Hye-ri is working on her new case. She comes to ask Jeong-seon some questions and she even takes notes. Her new case has to do with children so she works hard on interviewing the people and tries to talk to the little girl. By chance, it happens that she finds out that Prosecutor Yoon has a 7 year old daughter.
These other officers(?) decide to give Ma Hye-ri all of these cases because they heard how she didn’t really care about her job and cases and just stamps everything without thoroughly looking through it.
Hye-ri stands outside of Se-joon’s house and Se-joon has to leave Bin with Jeong-seon. (The three of them were exercising when Se-joon got a call.)
HR: Oh! Hello. You look so handsome...
SJ: What are you doing? Are you crazy?
HR: Huh?
SJ: You coming to someone’s house without warning.
HR: Uh...that is...
SJ: Hurry up and leave. Don’t ever come to this neighborhood or this area ever again.
HR: I didn’t know you would be this mad...there aren’t any kids in our neighborhood and I heard that your daughter is seven and Ji-min is 7 so I thought I would ask you what 7 year old girls like....that is an excuse. That’s all an excuse, I came because I like you. I wanted to know what kind of house you live in...it’s normal for people to like other people, right?
SJ: What?
HR: Yes, I like you. I like you, is that bad?
SJ: Go.
HR: I can’t like you?
SJ: No.
HR: Why?
SJ: Go and do your work. Is this the time for you to be messing around right now? I don’t like you at all. I really don’t like you. Go.
Right when Hye-ri runs away with tears in her eyes, enter Jeong-seon and Bin. Bin sees a goodie basket on the ground and asks who left it. Se-joon tells her not to touch it because it’s not hers.
The next day at work, her boss tells her that she’s not in charge of her case anymore. Ji-min’s mom requested for another prosecutor to take over the case. Hye-ri, taken aback, asks why and it’s because Ji-min’s mom didn’t like her from the start. Ji-min’s mother didn’t like the way she dressed, the way she acted, the lack of finesse and most importantly, Ji-min didn’t like her either.
I think Hye-ri calls In-woo to help her get to Ji-min and Hye-ri runs out when the woman from before stops in front of her. The woman says that she has a present for Hye-ri and continues on to dump the bucket of cherry tomatoes on her. Her coworkers look horrified and In-woo drives up to see the scene. The woman yells at Hye-ri saying that she is not a real prosecutor and walks away. Se-joon walks down towards Hye-ri but this time, In-woo reaches her first and wraps a jacket around her and takes her away.
The other coworkers wonder if In-woo is Hye-ri’s boyfriend. Se-joon watches her wordlessly and Jeong-seon in the back stares at both Hye-ri and Se-joon. Perhaps, she is piecing this together? In-woo lets her shower and gives her clothes. Yoo-na calls and tells Hye-ri to check the Internet. They check and the tomato incident is posted everywhere.
Hye-ri starts crying and yelling, asking why it’s always her, why it’s always her fault. In-woo drops her off home. The next morning, Hye-ri decides to run away. She packs her bags and leaves a note for her mom. At the airport, she asks for the fastest flight she can get on and while looking around for the last time, she feels a tinge of sadness. Walking forward, In-woo comes from behind and grabs her arm.
IW: Where are you going?
HR: Lawyer Seo!
IW: Ma Hye-ri, you can’t go anywhere. |
