Upcoming Korean movie "Detective K" has been sold to Taiwan!
Judy Ahn, Showbox's Head of International Business Department, told MyungMin International that Taiwan's Catchplay has bought the rights to screen the latest Kim Myeong-min flick. However, since the movie is currently in post-production and has not yet been released in Korea, it is still not known when the movie will be shown in Taiwan.
Catchplay was also responsible for showing Kim Myeong-min's last two movies, "Man of Vendett"a (2010) and "Closer to Heaven" (2009), to the Taiwanese audience.
"Detective K" tells about the adventures of Joseon's great detective (Kim Myeong-min) and his sidekick (Oh Dal-soo) as they try to solve a mystery about a series of the murders taking place in 18th century Korea. During their investigation, they make the acquaintance of a charismatic businesswoman (Han Ji-min), a central figure in the case who helps them uncover a massive conspiracy that will shock the nation.
The film helmed by veteran comedy director Kim Seok-yoon, and it will be released in Korea in January 27.
