I just watched ep23 and found something special. When Soomin went home she brought everyone a gift. She brought a clothes to dad, a dress to mom, and a beautiful straw hat to anutie. The interesting thing is when soomin said 'it's for mom', her auntie(JungOk, her birth mother) took that dress instantly. I think it's the wake-up of her motherhood that makes JungOk accept that gift subconsciously, since she knows soomin is her daughter and may dream many times to hear soomin call her 'mom'. This scene is delicate.
A twisted plot in this episode is, at one side, JungOk strongly opposes Zhang Huizhang to use the mother-daughter relationship to promote soomin, on the other hand, she really need Zhang to help soomin become a superstar, and even asks him for help. I wonder JungOk may ask a wrong guy, since Zhang's offer is really a double-bladed sword, which may eventually hurt soomin. I think JungOk herself can help and protect soomin at the worst scenario. But in this episode the scriptwriter gave us a complex, or confused signal for JungOk' role to help her innocent daughter. I am hoping here that the scriptwriter could exhibit us an elegant and confident mother hen, in the following episodes, to protect her both kids under her wings. Please don't fail me, scriptwriter!
