It starts off the drama by showing interviews of adopted people. These guys are editing the video clip. The date on the video screen is: September 25th, 1999.
Key: (M=Moon Hyuk aka So Ji Sup. G=Girl. J=John)
M: Hello, Do you need any help?
(the girl doesn’t say anything)
M:What country are you from?
G: Japan…
M: (in Japanese)-Really? Nice to meet you. I’m Japanese too.
G: Oh really? Nice to meet you.
M: (in Japanese)-Get in…I will drive you to where you need to go.
(Inside the car)
G: Thank you! I came for a knapsack trip and I was worried because I struggle in english, but I’m so glad I met another japanese person.
(Just then, a African-American guy named John pops up from the back seat and places a knife on the girl’s neck.)
J: Leave your bag and quiety get out of the car.
J: There’s not much money.
M: Two are missing.
(acting as if he doesn’t know)
M: Split it correctly…before I cut your wrist.
J: Let’s go get some beer with this money.
M: I need to use this. Ji Young’s present…It’s my wife’s birthday tomorrow.

E: Hello, Kang Minjoo. I’m reporter Song Eunjah from ‘Behind Korea’..

K: Thank You. ‘Behind Korea’ is really fast in getting informations. While you’re at it, please write about it on tomorrow’s newspaper.
G: What are you saying about who’s going to marry who. Hey, if you’re a reporter and you get into people’s business..
K: Aren’t we suppose to marry?
G: What?
K: You…did you play with me then?
K: Ah, I finally got him off my back.
E: I’m…never going to do this again. For realz…if you ask me to do this one more time, our friendship is over.
K: Okay…
E: You should start paying attention. (as in stop playing around). Loving just one person, getting love by one person…If you live your life like that it’s good. You playing poop dog! KANG MIN JOO!

(minjoo’s cell phone rings…and she moves to the bench)
K: Oh, honey~…how are you?…You saw me yesterday, but you want to see me again? Me too~~
(eunchae shocked~)
K: Okay…let’s meet there…honey, I’m in the middle of shooting something so I’ll call you back..(gets of the phone and picks up another phone). Honey~~~…no, I’m alright. I’m not busy.
(Eunchae who is looking at what minjoo is doing just stands still in shock not being able to shut her mouth. Just then, she gets a text message. It says: I don’t want to live, eunchae…Send by ‘our star’.)

E: Yoon!! Chae Yoon!!
C: Come in! I’m in the bathroom!!
(eunchae hesitates in going into the bathroom.)
C: Come in!! What are you doing?
E: What’s wrong? Why don’t you want to live?
C: I’m…message got ignored by her?
E: Huh?
C: I sent two messages…And it’s not broken.
E: …what did you message?
C: I’m excited about the trip we’re taking…Is it corny?
E: …I, want to be a special person to you…it’s corny huh?
(not knowing what to say…)
C: It’s cheesy right? SONG EUN CHAE!
E: ….To minjoo…you can’t.
C: …why?
E: Just…just…she doesn’t look good with you.
C: So you’re saying that I’m not good for minjoo?

C: Ah, how embarrassing…I’m going to die, for realz.
(he put his head under water)

(grabs her inside the tub)

(keeps her eyes shut and hands covering her eyes)

MoonHyuk short scene:
(he sits by two American ladies and stares at them for awhile. The two ladies get up to leave and he says in english…) M: Oh Oh, just leave it…I got it.

M: This dress…can you wrap it?
L: That dress is very expensive.
M: This is enough. Right?
G: Give me your hand baby. Do you like?
J: Oh I love it.
G: Ay…you like.
J: Oh my God I love it. Thank you Jason.
G: Ah, it looks beautiful.
J: Thanks.
G: Ah, what else would you like baby? Ah, that dress looks beautiful. I can just see you in that. Mmm great…that’s beautiful.
(outside)
J: Sorry. Please forgive me. I had Jason wait for a long time. I’m going.

J: Me too. I love you in the whole wide world Cha Moonhyuk. But instead of your money, I like Jason’s money more. (gives him a kiss). Please come to my wedding.

M: Today we have to shoot a CF. And than at dinner time we have a party.
C: Okay.

E: How was it today?
C: Mm..it was good.
(knock knock)
E: Wait a minute. Oh, minjoo.
K: hehe. Eunchae, come out.
E: What is it?
K: Tadaa~~~
E: What is this?
K: Wine…The wine that napoleon liked to drink..i got it from a fan.
E: Wow.
K: Do you want to come to my hotel later? Lets drink together.
E: Okay. That will be cool.
C: Can I come along to? Can’t I come along?
K: If you come along that would be great…Hey eunchae! Come with Yoon too.
E: …Okay.
(Scene: Eunchae and Chae Yoon walking on the sidewalk)
E: Do you also think love is like start craft?
C: Huh?
E: Is love a game to you?
C: Who said love was like star craft? Did minjoo say that?
E: No…just a person that I know.
C: Don’t play with that person…Our truthful eunchae, did you have a match/competition?
E: …Can’t you just think love is like a game too? Later when the person you love betrays you, hurts you..kicks you….have a big heart, don’t get heartbroken, don’t regret, just easily, like a game…like star craft.

(just then, moon hyuk car rushes infront of them)
E: Yoon! Ah!
C: Hey Eunchae~
E: Yoon. Are you okay? Did you get hurt?
(moonhyuk gets out of his car and grabs something out of his pocket and throws it out into the river. And he screams out loud.)
(Back to eunchae and chaeyoon. They are inside the hotel room.)
E: Ouch.
C: It hurts? It stings huh?…Ah, what kind of maniac drives like that!!! If I catch that dumb @$$ argh!!!
E: I’m alright.
C: You’re not alright…Don’t you have to go to the hospital?
E: I’m alright, really.
C: Ah, what do you mean you’re alright, you’re not alright! You’re not even married and look at your face, do you think this is alright?! Give me your face, right here!! I think it’s going to leave a mark/scar right here…Argh, on this pretty face, what if it leaves a scar? Argh, I’m sad…I’m going to die coz I’m sad, really…
E: Hey..yoon….
C: Why?…do want to go to the bathroom? Should I take you there?
E: No…minjoo must be waiting.
C: Ah.
E: I can’t go because I look like this…do you want to just go by yourself?

E: Go! You want to go!
C: How can I go without you?!! Take of your clothes…I think you’re back has some bruises, I’ll massage it/or put a hot pack.

(eunchae lays on the bed as chaeyoon sits down next to her and starts to sing.)
E: Hey…don’t do it.
C: Just listen. Korean Republic’s best singer is singing a lullaby to you…
(Chae Yoon starts to sing again and eunchae goes under the blanket. Making sure eunchae is a sleep…chae yoon says: )
C: Are you a sleep? Song Eunchae?
(He stands up and walks to somewhere else and calls up minjoo.)
C: Hey, minjoo…it’s me Yoon…I’ll go now…I’m not late right?….Oh also, come out tomorrow. Come out. Have your coordinator and mangager go up by themselves…and you just come out. Okay?
(Eunchae packs up her luggage and wanders around the streets. A man in the car comes up to her and says: )
Man: Hi, need some help?
E: uh…airport?
Man: Airport? (gives her a sign to get in)
E: Oh thank you. Thank you thank you.
(chae yoon goes inside the hotel room and calls out eunchae’s name.)
C: Eunchae. Song Eunchae. Hey song eunchae!
(He reads a memo from eunchae and it says: Something came up and I’m leaving for seoul first. I’ll see you in seoul.)
C: Jeez, leaving without saying anything.
(Eunchae gets fooled by the bad man and she gets pushed out of the car. They steal her luggage)
E: It’s a robber! A theft!!…Hey, you bad people!!
(The scene shifts to chaeyoon and minjoo who are out in the lobby)
K: I heard eunchae left in the morning? What was the big hurry? Ah…she told me that she was going to play with me…I guess I have to go up too. Hey manager, change my airplane ticket to today…
C: I told you to just stay. Don’t you see me in your eyes? Don’t you see me?
K: …I see you.
(once again, eunchae starts wandering around outside on the streets, not knowing what to do. Moonhyuk is also wandering around on the streets and he flashes back in his memory when his girlfriend said to him: But, I love Jason’s money more than yours. He continues to walk and see’s eunchae sitting on the ground. He goes up to her.)
M: (in japanese) Are you Japanese? I’m Japanese…
(she doesn’t say anything)
M: (in chinese) You’re chinese? I live in china town…
(he stands up and says: )
M: By any chance are you Korean?
E: Are you Korean?
(he gives a smile)
E: Ah, I’m saved…I’m saved!!! (she starts crying)
(Scene shifts to some bar/gambling place. Eunchae is eating a sandwich. Moonhyuk gives her a beer. She drinks it!)
E: Mmm…this is good.
(She keeps drinking and drinking…)
E: I’m alright, I’m alright, I’m alright. Love is just a game to me. Like star craft. Like star craft.
M: Wait a minute. I’ll come back.
(He gets money from a man. He starts counting the money)
M: Give me more.
Man: No more.
M: Come on.
Man: Not more.
M: Come on.
Man: Alright, one more. Just one more.
M: Thank you.
(Moonhyuk is out on the streets leaving eunchae sleeping inside the bar. I think she got sold! A man comes up to eunchae who had her head down on the table sleeping.)
Man: Come on darling how are you? Come on, how have you been?
E: hehe…thank you thank you!
(A group of guyz are looking through eunchae’s luggage. Moonhyuk sits down and finds eunchae’s passport on the ground. There is loud music and girls dancing on stage. After they end, these two guyz tries to drag eunchae up on the stage.)
Two Guys: Come on up on stage. Come on. Up stage up stage. Cheer come on.
(people are bidding on her! Moonhyuk comes in and yells: )
M: A MILLION DOLLARS!
(moonhyuk drags eunchae off the stage and gets out of the bar. Runs for their lifes! As their running, moonhyuk pulls in eunchae somewhere behind something.)
E: Where did you go? I thought you left me and went of, so scared…
(loosens his hand out of eunchae’s.)
E: Hey. Man…Brother…Hey you with the blown up hair (lol, bombed hair!)
(Eunchae follows Moonhyuk around the whole time. Back to chaeyoon and minjoo scene.)
K: Ah…it’s lovely…It’s like a picture, really.
C: …Let’s date.
K: (ignoring him) Should I quit everything and come live here?
C: For the past 3 years I’ve lived because of you…I like you.
K: Later…when I die…I’m going to die here.
(He tries to kiss her.)
K: You can’t.
C: What?
K: You’re a guy that my friend thinks preciously of…so you can’t.
C: What does that mean?
K: If you keep coming, you’ll get hurt..to you..i don’t want to hurt you too, because my friend song eunchae really takes care of you. Instead of a playgirl like me, find a really good woman.
C: I’m going to die!! I’m going to just die right here!!
K: Hey Chae Yoon!! Chae Yoon!! Wait a second…wait a second…just stand there.
(already falls into the river)
K: Chae Yoon!!
(Night has fallen and eunchae is still following moonhyuk around. Moonhyuk walks into some gate and lays on a box of card board to sleep.
E: …Are you going to sleep here? Don’t you have a house?
(she watches him sleep and gets out of the gate and walks off. Just then, a group of guyz inside a car comes toward her screaming aloud: “Hey! Baby! Come on!!”. She freaks out and turns and runs back to where moonhyuk is. She wakes moonhyuk up.)
E: Hey, hey…hey you….
Dude: Danny how you going man. Who’s your girlfriend?
M: Get out of here.
Dude: Alright man, cool.
(As the guyz go, eunchae see’s another man and stares at him. The man stands up and eunchae gets scared and lays behind moonhyuk.)
E: mom…mom…
(Moonhyuk turns around and grabs and pulls eunchae close to him.)
E: Ah..hey you…I have a husband, I’m married…I have a baby…
M: Just sleep…if you don’t want to die…
(she doesn’t say anything and takes out her cell phone and looks at the screen picture of her and chaeyoon.)
E: Yoon…Yoon…
(back to chaeyoon and minjoo)
K: …Are you alright?
C: Ah~, this is embarrassing…I’m going to die a little later again. I’m mad so I’m going to die. I’m going to drink all the water in the river so that my stomache explodes and die!
(minjoo laughs and kisses him.)
K: I already warned you….i warned you.
(He kisses her)
(Morning comes and moonhyuk disappears when eunchae wakes up. She finds her luggage next to her. She reads the note by moonhyuk which was written in sloppy korean. and she tries to find where moonhyuk is. Moonhyuk is walking in the streets and goes to jiyoung’s place. He finds a gift on the ground that was from jiyoung. He reads the wedding invitation that was inside the gift box. Moonhyuk goes inside the room and makes fun of the color of the suit that his girlfriend gave him. He starts shaving and flashes back to old memories he had with jiyoung.)
(The flashback)
J: Give it to me. Are you a guy who can’t shave? Watch. Just smoothly and slowly go along.
M: Okay, I’ll do it. Give it.
J: It’s fine. I’m going to do it all for you…You just keep still. I’m going to comb your hair, put on your clothes for you, I’m going to do all of it for you, baby…keep still…it’s going to cut you.
(done with flash back)
(He puts on a white shirt and looks inside the fridge and takes out rice and a bowl of empty kimchee. Scene shifts to the wedding cermony place. Moonhyuk drives up to the place and goes inside to find ji young)
M: Where’s the bride?
Lady: I don’t know. Who are you?
M: Where’s the bride? I was told that she was here.
Lady: How did you get in here.
J: Is that you moonhyuk?
M: I ate all the kimchee!!
J: What?
M: Kimchee…why didn’t you make some more?
J: Oh..I was so busy that I didn’t have time to.
M: Let’s go home.
J: …Why?
M: To make kimchee.
J: What?
M: Make the kimchee and than marry. Come out.
J: Go buy and eat it. Go buy some at HanEen Market.
M: I’m not going to eat if it’s not the kimchee that you make!
(ji young comes out.)
J: How do I look moonhyuk? Pretty? Why do you look like that. I sent you a tux. You didn’t go?
(Moonhyuk grabs her hand and he pulls her out into his car. Group of guyz chases the car. As moonhyuk drives, he see’s a man with a gun, but he keeps driving.)
J: My husband, Jason is very scary. Didn’t I tell you that he is a gangster who killed a lot of people? Turn the car around, hurry…Stop fooling around.
M: Let’s go to our country.
J: What?
M: Korea, let’s go…let’s go live there. If we go there, there should be a solution…we’ll live happily there, if we go there, we can…if we go...
J: Turn the car around. I’m late for my wedding!
M: Let’s go to our country.
J: Our country is here.
M: Let’s go to our country.
J: Danny please. I’m sorry okay? It’s my fault. It’s my fault that I teach you how to speak korean okay. I’m sorry.
(He turns the car and stops.)
M: Let die than. …If we can’t live together….let’s just die.
J: M-Moonhyuk.
M: If I born again…I’ll really born as a wealthy man…More rich than Jason and I’ll make you happy!! …If you want to pray go ahead…for the last time.
J: …moonhyuk…what’s wrong? Calm down…
M: I’m going then…See you in heaven.
J: Mom…Mom…Mom… Mom…Mom…Mom…
(the car starts moving slowly…scene shifts to eunchae at the airport)
E: South Korea.
Worker: Okay, passenger name.
E: Song Eunchae.
(She takes out the note that moonhyukk wrote. She see’s chae yoon and minjoo and ducks down. Shifts back to moonhyuk’s scene. Moonhyuk drives jiyoung back to the wedding cermony.)
J: Moonhyuk, what’s wrong? Go slowly…slowly. Ah!!
(She gets out of the car and goes to Jason)
J: Jason, I’m sorry. Are you mad? Are you alright? I’m sorry hunny. It’s okay. Okay let’s go.
(The wedding cermony begins. Moonhyuk drinks a glass of wine and grabs a piece of bread and sits down on a chair.)
M: Ah..this is very greasy. I want to eat kimchee.
(Moonhyuk see’s the man that he saw earlier with the gun. The man takes the gun out of his pocket and shoots a person (Jason I assume). Moonhyuk runs up to jiyoung to protect her. We hear a gun shot. There’s a couple second scene with just eunchae’s shocked face. It goes back to the shooting scene. Moonhyuk gets shot. Very bloody scene. Ji young is crying. And the drama ends with that.) |
