Daum takes stage at PIFF
BUSAN - Daum Communications, the nation's second-largest Web portal, is looking to develop a closer connection with consumers by taking an active role in the Pusan International Film Festival and other movie events in the country.

) J+ Z4 p3 r5 M3 g0 s+ V. x, LThe company decided to become a main sponsor of PIFF this year for the first time ever, hoping to cement its bonds with the younger generation in particular. While other sponsors are simply promoting their products and services at the festival, Daum has taken the idea a step further by attempting to tie the company into other aspects of PIFF.+ a# T; { b0 a: W

The company, for instance, is offering special content for visitors with smartphones, allowing them to pull up information about each film and restaurants near PIFF venues via its map service." v) j$ x- R: Z/ L$ ^
. `/ S& ?* P6 j. f y4 R- LIt's also allowing visitors who don't have smartphones to rent the devices for free, giving them a chance to check out Daum's mobile content services.; j( T$ U& Q6 _# J, ?: a
