AAE Recap - Monday & Tuesday's Episode (June 13-14, 2005)
Erica went to look for Nicole in the rain. She changed into a dry set of clothes Nicole prepared for her. “You’ve heard of it?” Jasper had publicized their photos afterall. “Nine p.m. news will go to you then. Are you happy?” But Nicole was never really interested in news broadcast. Erica looked at her and knew she was telling the truth, “That’s what I hated about you. I had to work so hard for the things I want and you don’t even appreciate their value.” Nicole replied, “I don’t understand you as well. You wanted a lot of things in life, but never seemed to cherish the treasures you already had in your hands…” She continued, “Would you believe it if I tell you I have been very envious of you?” “I was envious of you too all this while….” Finally, the two girls shook hands and made up…
The next morning, Kenneth found a resignation letter from Erica on his table. In it, she admitted to her crime and apologized for her disappearance. When he arrived at Erica’s house with Nicole later, all they found was the blouse Nicole loaned her, nicely pressed, and the necklace Kenneth bought for Nicole’s benefactor.
Erica decided to end her life and came to the lake near Warren’s tomb. Her spirit broken, she uttered the words, “Can I forgive myself now?” and calmly walked into the deep waters.
Erica went missing after she resigned. At the TV station, Kenneth and Nicole continued with their efforts to search for Erica’s whereabouts and even put up search notices in the newspapers. Nicole felt very angry at herself for not holding back Erica the night she looked for her and broke down in tears. Kenneth could only hold her in his arms and comfort her.
Kenneth told Judith that Erica had admitted to sabotaging her car. Judith was shocked to learn this truth but couldn’t bring herself to sue Erica, “I can’t sue her… Even Warren had forgiven her. She must have very felt bad leaving this place after admitting to her crime…”
Judith told Nicole that she had decided to give up the chance to go to England to marry Allan Instead, she had recommended Nicole to go as her replacement. She believed that Kenneth would agree to this, because he had wanted to see Nicole successful more than anyone else.
At night, Nicole waited for Kenneth at their usual meeting place. Kenneth looked at her from afar and love filled his heart. He walked over to her, caught hold of her hands from behind and started to walk off. Nicole was startled by his actions, “Senior(Kenneth), what are you doing? We will be seen by the colleagues nearby!” She frantically looked around to see if there were any familiar faces. But Kenneth disregarded her words and said softly, “It’s been a really long day…. because I’ve been wanting to hold your hands…” He walked her home in the rain. As they walked, Kenneth suggested that they stop looking for Erica since she seemed determined to hide from the others. Nicole inquired if he knew Judith had given up the chance to go to England in order to marry Allan. Kenneth laughed, “I knew. Allan threatened to dump her if she don’t want to marry. Even the career-minded Judith will soften in the face of love!” Nicole carefully asked him, “What would you do if you were Allan? Would you let Judith go?” Kenneth replied candidly, “Yes, I guess so. Going there to study is a good thing afterall.” He did not realize a tint of disappointment flashed across Shan Mei’s face.
At this time, they had reached Nicole’s house. The road to her house always seemed so short, Kenneth thought. “I really couldn’t bear to leave you….” To his surprise, Nicole hooked his arm and smiled sweetly, “In that case, let’s go to your house! I had already decided just now that if you aren’t driving today, I would send you home!” “But aren’t you tired after a day of recording work?” Although Kenneth liked the idea a lot, he couldn’t bear to see Nicole tire out. “But didn’t you say you couldn’t bear to leave me? Come on, let’s go!” However, once on the taxi, Nicole was too tired and dozed off. Kenneth looked at her sleeping form tenderly and shifted her to sleep in his arms. He then softly asked the driver to send them back to where they got on earlier…
At the TV station, Nicole began researching for materials on England. She touched the necklace Erica left behind and thought, “If it were Erica, she would have gone to England without any hesitation…” At the other side, Kenneth promised his father to bring Nicole home to see him soon.
This day, Kenneth personally went to the jewellery shop to choose a wedding ring for Nicole. He wanted only the best for his angel. At the office, he decided to write a love letter to Nicole but tore up draft after draft. The words ‘Be with me everyday!’ ‘Please marry me!’ just couldn’t express his love adequately! He switched on the television and saw a scene from Pretty Woman where Richard Gere climbed a flight of stairs to propose to Julia Roberts….. Looking at this, Kenneth couldn’t help but laugh at his own foolishness….
Finally, the wedding day for Allan and Judith is here! Before all the people, Kenneth playfully winked at Nicole and came to sit down beside her, “The bride looked so beautiful.” Judith looked really beautiful and elegant in her wedding gown. He wondered how Nicole would look in a wedding gown? Nicole smiled and replied, “So envious…” Kenneth stole a quick glance at her, “That’s good!” He touched the ring in his pocket… He had practiced for a long time and this time, he is adamant to bring Nicole home as his bride! He decided to ask Nicole out for dinner after the wedding to propose to her. Nicole had something to tell him as well. Later, when Nicole got hold of Judith’s hand bouquet, Kenneth could not stifle a laugh. Things were really going his way! |
