AAE Recap - Tuesday & Wednesday's Episode( June 7 - 8, 2005)
When Warren got home, he was surprised to see Erica just after their heated quarrel earlier on. It turned out that Jasper had just been released from the prison and threatened Erica with their intimate photos and even wrote a letter to the TV station declaring her hideous past. Erica was scared of Jasper. She couldn’t risk the nine p.m. news broadcaster position and wanted Warren to help her get rid of him. Warren asked her to give up her plans and once again declared his feelings and hope to start anew with her somewhere else. However, Erica wasn’t at all moved, “I wouldn’t give up. Why do you think I had come to look for you today? I just don’t wish to dirty my own hands! You had better wake up! You are of no value to me now!” She said the brutal words and left Warren crying.
Erica made a tape recording of Jasper blackmailing her and made a police report. In the end, Jasper, who was waiting for Erica, was chased by the police.
Warren decided to take Erica away to settle down somewhere else and bought two air tickets. Before he left, he visited Nicole and told her to cherish her relationship with Kenneth. He also visited his mother, who till now, still couldn’t forgive him. While doing an outdoor broadcast together, he passed Erica the tickets, “Since I knew you, I have only one dream, and that is to be with you always, it doesn’t matter where the place is. Can’t I have this dream to start anew with you?” He could leave his mother, leave his hometown… if only he could be with Erica. He would protect her, this was what he thought… But Erica wordlessly tore the air tickets into bits in front of him and tore his heart in the process…
As Erica continued with her broadcasting, Jasper suddenly appeared, armed with a knife. Erica became flustered and her face went pale. Warren immediately noticed her reactions and went forward to block Jasper. In shock, Erica stepped backwards onto the road and did not notice an oncoming truck. Just when she was about to be knocked over, Warren flung over and pushed her away. When Warren landed on the ground again, he was already covered in a pool of blood. Erica screamed hysterically…
At the hospital bed, Erica sat beside Warren’s lifeless body. Her clothes were stained with his blood. She slowly closed Warren’s eyes for the final time and tears rolled down her cheeks. Auntie Alma was crying when she saw Warren’s body, she couldn’t believe what her eyes were seeing, “Warren, mom’s here. Wake up….” When the nurses came to move his body, she broke down and screamed hysterically, “Where are you people taking him? I beg you… please don’t take him away, he’s my son…. Warren…!” When she saw Erica, hatred burned in her. She flung herself onto Erica, “It’s you! You murderer! You killed my son! I will perish with you!” But Erica stood motionless, oblivious to the outside world. In the end, Auntie Alma fainted in her grief. When Nicole received news of Warren’s death, her knees went weak and she almost fell if not for Kenneth support. Kenneth rushed to the hospital with her. Nicole couldn’t believe that Warren had left just like this. He gave all his love for Erica, and in the end, even his life… “Nicole, you have to be strong,” She kept telling herself. Now that Warren’s dead, she would be the only one who could comfort Auntie Alma.
At the funeral, Nicole cried uncontrollably. Kenneth comforted her and offered the first stalk of flower at Warren’s grave. Nicole handled the funeral with Auntie Alma and she seldom cried. Kenneth was worried and called the station to manage the affairs. Nicole was exceptionally calm today and this made Kenneth even more worried, “Nicole, you did very well today. You have been really strong. You used to cry a lot but you didn’t today.” Nicole lowered her head and said softly, “I can’t cry, I’m the only one who could comfort Auntie Alma now, how could I cry? Senior, please don’t look at me and don’t talk to me. Please go back to the office. If I see you, I would only become very weak and cry again….” Kenneth fully understood her feelings and told her to look for him if she needed a shoulder to cry on. After the funeral, Nicole went to Warren’s place and chanced upon the photo they took on her first day at the university. How could Warren bear to leave them? She felt so heart broken and her tears threatened to fall again. Later, at Kenneth’s place, he took out a handkerchief and said, “Didn’t you wish to cry? See, I’m fully prepared.” Nicole finally collapsed in his arms and wept bitterly…
On the other side, Erica did not attend Warren’s funeral. Instead, she went to work as usual and appeared very jovial on the programme. She even brushed off Warren’s death as an accident and said the matter had nothing to do with her. Even when her car was scribbled with the words “murderer”, she ignored it and drove off calmly. |
