Lee Dong Gun asked the writers that it'll be suited for the Taeyoung and Kijoo couple to be happy only if his character Soohyuk dies.
He suggested that if Soohyuk throws his life away to save Taeyoung, and leaves her with Kijoo the audience/waters/viewers would enjoy it a lot more, and feel bad for the character instead of hating him for being stubborn [?].
that's basically what the article is saying..
that LDG himself thought it'll be best if the ending happened to be that way. but the writers aren't saying much about it, and that the ending filmed in Paris would be the final ending! But that doesn't necessarily mean that LDG will not die... BUT the writers clearly said nobody will die in this drama... -- final!
